- About Me:
- Bard of Ely is a singer-songwriter, poet, author, columnist, freelance writer, compere, photographer, naturalist, UFO experiencer, chemtrail activist and conspiracy factist!
Bard of Ely comes from Cardiff, Wales but now lives in Tenerife. Author CJ Stone, however, says in his book Last of the Hippies, that Bard of Ely under his real name Steve Andrews, is actually an alien.
Bard of Ely was compere for the Avalon Stage at Glastonbury in 2002 and 2003 and he died his beard green for his role as compere and performer at the Green Man Festival in the latter of these years. He still has it that colour and is also known as Green Beard or Barba Verde.
Bard of Ely writes for the Tenerife Sun and Tenerife News newspapers, he once had a column in the Big Issue and it was this publication that dubbed him with his title. He has also contributed to Living Tenerife and Permaculture Magazine. Bard of Ely is the author of Herbs of the Northern Shaman, now sadly out-of-print because Loompanics have had to pack up. A new edition is planned though on lulu.com with lots of new colour pics by Katrina Lonergan.
Bard of Ely worked as a TV presenter for two series of In Full View and he has also had some small acting roles including an alien henchman in Red Dragon Sci-fi short shown on HTV Wales' Shotgun Slideshow. Bard of Ely also featured in a trailer for Weird Wales on this channel, when he was regressed to a UFO experience, and he made the Xmas news on HTV for being the first Welsh pineapple grower.

Bard of Ely in St David's Day Music Marathon
The Celtic radio station IRFT is extending its St. David's day special to now run a full 54 hours, and it also planning a dedicated Welsh show on the station starting in March 2008.
